Save on your transfers and the Perito Moreno Excursion with this package.
We offer transfer IN and OUT from El Calafate airport to the door of your accommodation + Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the most emblematic places in Argentina.
It is one of the most beautiful glaciers in the world. In fact, its surface exceeds the city of Buenos Aires (CABA). Discover the glacier and its vastness in this exclusive excursion, an impressive, unforgettable and unique destination.
We’ll leave the city of El Calafate to take Route 11 and border the crystalline Argentino Lake. There are 80 Km until we reach Perito Moreno Glacier. It is quite nice ride on a paved road. This journey is perfect to enjoy the many landscapes the National Park has to offer..
During the trip we’ll visit Rendonda Bay on Argentino Lake, a place where we’ll spot the great variety of local birds. Our guide will help us identify black neck swans, flamingoes, pato vapor, coots and kelp geese among other species.
During the first 40 Km we’ll appreciate the vastness of the Patagonian steppe where the yellow of its fields stands out.
At the entrance of National Park Los Glaciares we’ll be able to observe the luxuriant vegetation. Most trees belong to the nothofagus family (antarctica, pumilio). Depending the time of the year, you’ll see a great variety of typical flowers that belonging to the Patagonian Andean Forest.
We will finally get to the so-acclaimed destinations for both local and international tourists. The first stop will be at Curva de los Suspiros .This is the first panoramic point of Perito Moreno Glacier. We’ll take a few minutes to get some shots of the scenery.
Afterwards, we’ll continue towards Puerto Bajo las Sombras. This is the chance for those willing to get on a vessel to navigate near the glacier and contemplate its famous ice collapses. We recommend taking the navigation through the southern arm (Brazo Rico) of Argentino Lake. The length of the navigation is 1 hr to marvel yourselves with the huge walls of the glacier that oscillate between 40 and 80 mts high.
We’ll then walk through the footbridges of the park to get better views and reach the exclusive balconies to see the glacier from different perspectives. We’ll have time to take pictures and enjoy the landscape. Footbridges cover a total of 4.7 Km leaving you close enough to see the textures and the glacier’s deep-blue color. You’ll witness the ice collapsing from here.
At the end of the excursion, we’ll have an optional lunch with typical dishes and then head back to El Calafate city.
